And the Oscar goes to...

A sólo un día de la 84 entrega de los Premios de la Academia podemos augurar quién o quiénes resultarán vencedores la noche de este domingo basandonos en premiaciones anteriores y las tendencias del Oscar en los últimos años...
Muchos dudan del triungo de The Artist en mejor película, supuestamente por ser muda, extranjera y en blanco y negro. Sin embargo es inobjetable su triunfo, ¿por qué? por el simple hecho de ser una hoda a Hollywwod y su trama romántica y  superación cae en la línea premiable de Mejor película, no sólo fue aclamada por la crítica, también arrasó en premiaciones como los BAFTA, los Critic´s choice awards y ensombreció el triunfo de The Descendants en los Globos de oro. Aunque todo puede pasar y la favorita puede resultar desacalabrada por un voto nacionalista a la mera hora, en ese caso Hugo o The descendants resultarían beneficiadas, sin embargo, muchos coinciden en que una película infatil por más amor al cine y Scorsese en su esencia no lograría alzarse en la noche como triunfadora; tampoco una cinta indie  con dosis reflexivas que ve más probable su triunfo en solitario en guión. Del resto de las películas mejor ni hablamos, las más académicas como War horse o Extremely Loud & Incredibly close resultaron valpuleadas por los críticos e ignoradas por muchos gremios y ceremonias, incluso fue un milagro su nominación, otras como Moneyball, Midnight in Paris o The help tienen una mención honorífica y nada más. Mientras que The tree of life, la Palma de oro en Cannes, es un mero adorno de prestigio para la premiación pero no triunfará.


En el apartado de director, la cosa está más reñida, Martin Scorsese y su maestría tras las cámaras versus Michel Hazanavicius con su originalidad. Por méritos y ganar el premio en los Golden Globe, Scorsese debería triunfar aquí, sin embargo el boom de marketing de la película francesa además del premio del Gremio de directores beneficia a todas luces al realizador galo, así pues podemos ver un triunfo completo de la película muda cuando su director suba al escenario. Alexander Payne, Woody Allen y Terrence Malick con sus menciones honoríficas respectivas no lograrán ni acercarse a la estatuilla.


Pero los duelos más chispeantes de la noche seguramente serán los de George Clooney vs Jean Dujardin y Meryl Streep vs Viola Davis. En sus respectivas categorías, los histriones son los que han obtenido mayor reconocimiento de la industria y pelean por hacer historia. En mejor actor, Clooney cuenta con el aval de su carisma y su respetada figura, además de haber sido encumbrado por los críticos que alabaron su interpretación en The Descendants, por su parte, Jean Dujardin obtuvo un sorpresivo triunfo en los SAG y los BAFTA lo cual lo posiciona como el favorito para arrancarle el Oscar a Clooney. En mejor actriz la cosa es más reñida, los premios repartidos, Viola Davis triunfó en Critic´s choice y el SAG, mientras Streep se llevó de gane el BAFTA y el Globo de oro. Davis tiene la ventaja de The Help está nominada a mejor película mientras Streep fue ovacionada por la crítica; una sería la segunda actriz afroamericana en ganar en la categoria protagónica mientras la otra haría historia con el tercer Oscar de su brillante carrera. El resto de los nominados, sobre todo Bichir (nominación política), lograrán un prestigio por la nominación pero hasta ahí.


En reparto, Christopher Plummer y Octavia Spencer ya tiene practicamente el premioo en la bolsa.
En la categoría animada, una terna flojísima este año, Rango muestra su superioridad sin embargo tal vez la Academia pueda premiar a una cinta extranjera ante la falta de calidad de las producciones americanas y en ese caso, Chico y Rita resultaría beneficiado.


En película extranjera todo está puesto para el triunfo de Asghar Fahani y su drama Nader & Sim: A separation.


En fin, será una noche de emocionantes duelos de previsibles premios y de mucha POLÍTICA, pero ahí va mi quiniela.
